I'm a bit behind with my posts, so I will endeavour to catch up over the next week!
At the beginning of August me and my trusty photo mate Mabel went to visit Cheshire's Polo Club to rub shoulders with the top Cheshire set :).
We did our research and found the grounds but it seemed as if we were a bit early even though we saw some players in the middle of a game. We asked a local at the side of the grounds and indeed we were in the right place and she told us where we could park, right against the side of the field.
We saw one game that went into an extra chukker 'sudden death' because they were drawn at the end of the game. It seemed a very quiet day with not that many people there, or so it appeared, but those that were there were very friendly to us, smiling or chatting explaining the rules. We moved on after the one match as we did expect it to be much more exciting.
We did have it confirmed, as we expected, that it is very difficult to get decent photos of the play in action, the field is so big, unless you have a good zoom camera you can bet that you will be at the wrong end for the action and also when it is close it is very hard to capture ponies and riders in a good frame.
We live and learn and a new experience for both of us, one that we enjoyed.
Thanks for reading!
Ta ta for now!
